100 Websites Goal

100 Websites - 100 Dollars

Good Morning, Day, Afternoon or Evening folks!

More Websites – More Money?

We’ll see.

In efforts for me to generate more passive income online I have set myself a goal of building 100 Websites by then end of 2011.

These websites are to be fully-functioning, presentable and provide the visitors with information and value.

I would also like for them to make at least 1 dollar a day.

If that is the case then obvioulsy that is $100 dollars a day of Google Adsense Passive Income. That sounds pretty good to me!

Will Having 100 Websites Make $100 Dollars a Day?

I hope so!

I am confident I will at least get my ROI (Return On Investment) back in a years time anyway. With that said, I don’t think it’s a bad idea and that it’s at least worth a shot.

I like to say. “You Never Know, Unless You Try.

I once scored a free trip to Hawaii simply by asking my boss at the time. I asked if he could send a friend and myself to Hawaii. I didn’t think he would say yes and that it was a lost cause.

To my surprise he replied “Yes.” and we were on our way a week later.

I come back to that moment in time and think about it often.

I would have never gone to Hawaii if I didn’t ask.

The point being is You Don’t Know Unless You Ask or Try.

So, I’m going for it.

Busy as a Bee

I’ve been very busy registering several domains that have high global searches and low competition.

I prefer to register .coms only.

However, there are a few .nets that I picked up simply because the search rate was so high and the competition was so low.

I do this when the registered .com is just parked which means that at least for now I don’t have to worry about competing with them.

I do not like registering .orgs and haven’t done so. I most likely will not.

I have had very good results registering .coms and getting most of them on the first page with Google. Which is nice and a huge time saver.

The .nets seem to rank on the second page of Google quite easily but tend to take more work and more backlinking for them to reach the first page.

The Break Down

Currently I have 46 registered domains with 7 of which haven’t been developed at all.

There are 6 domains that are semi-developed that need content, more content to be added, tweaking, adjusting, etc.

That leaves me with 54 domains to buy, build and develop from here til the end of the year.

Crunch Time

Let’s look at the numbers now.

July is pretty much done so let’s just start with August.

August til the end of the year is 5 full months.

54 websites divided by 5 months left in the year is 10.8. Let’s just say 11.

11 websites a month divided by 4 weeks a month is 2.7. Let’s say 3.

In order for me to reach my goal of having 100 Websites by the end of the year I have to build 3 Websites a Week!

That’s a lot of work.

I can do it.

What Kind of Websites?

I’m going for mini-niche sites here. Not huge authority sites or anything like that. I am after original, unique and quality content. I will also make efforts to build up back links for them as well.

Wish Me Luck!

I am confident I can pull this off. It is going to be a big juggling act especially when my iPhone App is being developed.

I don’t know when I will have time to sleep!

Bring on the Coffee!

How Many Websites Do You Run

How many websites do you run?

  1. 1
  2. 2
  3. 3
  4. More then 50
  5. More then 100

I’d love to hear how many websites you run and if you think it is a good idea to try to build 100 websites by the end of this year, or at all?

Regardless, I hope you follow me on my journey!

Cheers!

    This is really inspiring stuff.

Will you be automating the process at all in terms of setting up the websites? Will you go with a standard rollout in terms of theme, plugins, etc., or will you be customizing each site based on the niche?

I’m also interested in how on earth you plan to handle producing content for these sites and (just as importantly) how you plan to build the backlinks. Will you be automating any of that process using spinners, outsourcing either article writing or link building, or do you intend to run the entire process by hand?

Unless you’re doing this full time it seems a little too much work to be feasible without automation or outsourcing. Or am I just being defeatist?

Hi Ben. Thanks for the comment.

So far I haven’t done any automating and have done everything myself and by hand. Yes, it is a tonne of work. Will it be worth it at the end? I hope so. We’ll soon find out.

Each site will be customized so they won’t look totally generic. Once I can get the site ranked they’ll be put on auto pilot and hopefully start earning some Adsense income, even if it’s just a buck. I seem to be doing alright with ranking the sites that I already have. Yes, it is very time consuming.

I’ve been having really good results with the low competition keywords. They rank quite easily and do not require an abundance of backlinking.

You’re right, it is a full time gig. I’m doing an easy 12 to 16 hours a day.

That’s the trick I was missing, I guess. I’d love to have the time for that, but right now it’s just not feasible.

But props to you – if you manage it, you’ll be in an excellent position to continue building your passive income with a stable base underneath you.

Have you considered how you might diversify to avoid total reliance on Adsense?

        • Cal says:

          Thanks Ben.

Yeah, I do have an account with Chitika which doesn’t bring in a whole lot, but then again I don’t run very many ads with them. I’m thinking about doing a few sites with soley Chitika ads running to see how those perform. I am also signed up with the Amazon Associates program so I hope to make some passive income with that as well.

To go back to what you mentioned earlier about the backlinking. I see back linking as just an on going process. I find myself it’s something to do when I’m taking a ‘break’. It never ends…

    Hey Cal,

Sounds amazing! I am looking forward to following you on your progress. I agree, you never know unless you try. I had a bunch of niche sites but I choose to focus on one since it is my main niche and I have been doing it offline for many years. For now I will stick to the one site but I love the motivation to do more!

    • Cal says:

      Thank Joseph,

How do your other niche sites perform? Do you make money with them? I have a few that I haven’t touched or updated for years and they still bring in Adsense money. It’s crazy.

  3. I am currently working on about 3-4 websites and I find that it takes a while to get any results from any of them. They are in pretty competitive markets though. Are most of your websites ranking well at the moment? What kind of monthly search volumes are you going for? My logic is to make it work with one or two and then apply the same “formula” to some more websites if I need to. I guess the argument that I see for having many websites is that one of them might be a big hitter and you would never have known if you had not given it a shot, playing the numbers game really.

    Cheers

    Ramy

    • Cal says:

      Hi Ramy,

Results in what way? Ranking them or making money from them?

I don’t buy any domains that have high competition. I only get .com’s and .net’s with low competition and sometimes medium competition.

Yeah, the sites that I have done back linking for are ranking well. The back linking back log piles up fast so I have to set aside a large chunk of time for that. I could easily spend a day or more back linking.

As for search volumes, the first few site I did were rather low, only about 1,000 to 2,000 Global Monthly Searches. Since then I have been digging around to find higher search volumes. I have sites ranging from 33,100 global search up to 110,000.

Yeah, I agree with you about the ‘formula’. I look at each site as practice for the next one and getting everything dialed in to see what works right.

I see it as a numbers game too. Just put them out there and see what happens.

      Thanks for stopping by!

      • 33 to 110k is quite a few searches per month! I mean results as in ranking and you say you are doing well at this. I have only purchased the unique article wizard today to try that out and I hope it helps.

Great! Let us know what your thoughts and results are with the Unique Article Wizard. I’ve thought about getting it, but still undecided.
