So here I have this shiny, brand spankin’ new blog about how I am trying to earn a living online making passive income. I’m not entirely new to the passive income game. I have several small websites that pull a little bit of extra money monthly with Adsense. Which is fantastic. However, I am new to the blogging about it and sharing it with the world game.
I am trying to take it up several notches and actually earn a living online with passive income. I plan on doing this with Google Adsense, maybe some Affilliate Marketing, but mostly iPhone Apps. As that is where my passion lies.
My wife and I also enjoy traveling and sharing our experiences in the world together. So I might begin a Travel Blog about that and perhaps monetize that as well.
Still has that Brand Spankin New Blog Smell to It
However, in the mean time I have this new blog. It still has that brand new blog smell to it. I have a few readers and a handful of followers on Twitter. I’ve been doing a lot or reading and a lot of research and have found out to make any money in this game you must have a decent amount of readers, followers and regular visitors to your website to have any hope in succeeding. Most importantly though you need your readers trust. Through blogging, Twitter and sharing things about yourself (Transparency) this is possible. That is my aim.
How do you do this? My blog is literally buried online underneath probably hundreds if not thousands of other blogs that are trying to do exactly the same thing!
I don’t know how. There is no easy or magic answer and there is no secret button to push. I’m just finding my way.
I have been learning a lot about other bloggers who are in the same boat as myself. I am finding out that it is a very close, very friendly and very supportive community. Which is great. I love support and I love community and I love to be social.
After about a week or so of gaining followers on Twitter and reading fellow bloggers blogs and leaving honest and non spammy comments on their posts I soon had the favor returned.
I received a nice little comment from a Blogger who you probably know as Laura Burke who runs an awesome blog at SkipTheScams.com. Laura was kind enough to leave a comment on my Social Networking is like One Big Party post.
Thank you Laura once again. I really do appreciate it.
Nothing Beats a Random Surprise
Well, needless to say. I was ecstatic! My first comment on one of my posts. It really meant a lot to me and it still does. I know that to a lot of the bigger names and bigger blogs that is no big deal, but this was huge for me.
I thought to myself. “Cool! We have here our very First comment on iWIngs.net! “What can I do to celebrate and show my appreciation?” I know! I’ll send Laura a $10 Gift Card from Amazon. Yes. You heard me right. I just sent a complete stranger random follower on twitter 10 bucks. Why? I love surprises that’s why. It made me feel really good too. I couldn’t stop smiling in fact. I still can’t. I’m beaming! You should try it sometime.
Now, I know that 10 bucks is not a lot of money. I know this. It is something though but even better is it was a huge surprise to a random somebody on the other side of the planet. Totally out of the blue. Which I like. I like to surprise people.
Then I thought to myself I’m on to something here and perhaps in more ways then one. As I mentioned, I love surprises. This will not be first or the last surprise you will see or hear of coming from over here. Nope, no way. Too much fun!
It’s About You – The Readers
I’m looking for fantastic readers, bloggers, and awesome community members to join me and follow me on my journey. You can help support and grow this spankin’ new little blog of mine in to something remarkable.
Do something different. Do something spontaneous. Think outside of the box. Life is random and full of chaos. Why not have a little fun with it?
What do the Readers Think?
Have you ever done something completely random and spontaneous? Online or Offline? What was it and what was the outcome?
