The Upside
There are a lot of things that come into play when you have several websites to build, update and maintain. It really is a never ending circle of updating, adding contenting, SEO, the list goes on and on.
However, I find that this is some what of a good thing.
I enjoy having something to do or something to work on either when I’m bored, in my down time, a break from other projects or if I just need a change of pace.
I look at it as a longer term investment of time and effort. It is an entire work in progress. I found that if I work on one or two websites at once and grind through that, that it is much easier and more efficient.
Though you should give some kind of attention to your other websites as well.
The Downside
Obviously it is very time consuming. However, in saying that. The more you do it, the faster and more efficient you get. It only takes a few moments to register a domain and have WordPress up and running on it.
It only takes another short moment to get all your favorite plugins and themes installed and ready to go.

That’s Laying the Ground Work
That’s the easy part. All that is doing is simply opening the container for you to fill with content. It is now your job and your duty to continue to fill the box with content and information for you visitors.
You don’t have to do this daily, but you should try to do it at least weekly. Even if it is just a short article, a review, or whatever.
Even continue to do so if you are ranked number 1 with Google.
You never know when somebody is going to ambush your ranking. I’m speaking from experience here.
It is a long term project and a goal to continue to add to your websites over a period of time.
How?
This is what works best for me.
I open Safari and then I open Aurora. You can do it however you like, but I prefer these two browsers. I then go on to login to WHM. I click on List Accounts.
From list accounts I just work my way down all the websites. I do a quick keyword check to see where I’m at for that particular site. Personally, I tend to favor the websites that are doing better then the others and work with those.
I also like to do a quick search with the Google Keyword Tool just to get an idea of where I’m at and if anything drastic has changed.
I used to do this daily, now it is pretty much a weekly task. There are exceptions though.
I quickly do some backlinking and depending on how much time I have I will add a brief review, or short article.
I try to add articles in the 400 to 500 word range, but have found that 200 to 300 word article to pretty good. Depending on what the competition is for your niche and or keywords your results may vary from ranking up all the way to the top of Google or quickly being shuffled back a page or two.
I’ve seen this a lot lately.
While not an official test or anything like that. Going by what I have looked into this comes down to competition for the keyword(s). I also think this has a lot to do with it being a new website.
Although, on the flipside to that, even with very little competition and large pillar articles, I’ve still been kicked back a page. Which is really strange.
I’ve been ranked at number 1 on Google with a few websites, then for no reason I will be kicked back a page or two.
I really don’t know why the huge shuffles are occurring but they do.
SEO is a Never Ending Battle
With all that said and done. The fight for top spot on Google is a never ending one. Which means for you as a niche website owner or builder, you have your work cut out for you.
Keep building, keep writing, and keep adding quality content. Don’t skim around the corners. Again, speaking from experience here.
It requires constant work and attention to stay at the top.
Keep plugging away. Don’t worry if you lose a few SEO bouts. With a little time and effort you will be back ahead of your competition.

I am noticing big and pretty much random changes in ranks on Google. I am not on the first page for anything but for some keywords I have been moving between 4-30 which I find very strange! New websites also so I think Google moves it around to test the waters or something. This article makes niche marketing not sound passive at all!
Hey Ramy,
It’s weird. I just feel like things are really unsettled with newer websites. I think the best thing to do when your sites are being shuffled around is to just keep adding content and back linking just like normal. I also noticed that on some of my sites that when I originally bought the domain there was little to no competition. Where as now it has sprung up, costing me my rank.
I have a Google Adsense account and own several websites and i am just wondering whether i can put all the advertisements from that account on to all of my websites or do i need a separate account for each website?
No, you do not need a separate Google Adsense account for each website. You only need one Adsense account. You can place ads on as many websites as you want with it.
Thanks for writing this information on your site.
No problem.
Cheers.
You have written an awesome website.
I love the way you wrote that.
Cheers!
