Why You Should Write and Publish Your Article No Matter What!

Why You Should Write and Publish Your Article No Matter What!

In my previous post I wrote about the dreaded WordPress 3.3 Update – PopUp Domination Error. Which obviously occurred when the WordPress 3.3 update became live and available for updating you blog.

I made the update on another website and couldn’t get back into the WordPress Dashboard.

I initially wasn’t going to take the time to write or publish that post. The first reason being is I generally like to write at least a 500 word article as a minimum.

It’s sort of my personal standard and I try to stick to it.

I’ve since learned that while 500 word+ articles are good – Size Doesn’t Matter.

I really don’t like to write short posts and feel that they almost cheat the reader. I generally feel as though short posts are the easy way out.

I don’t think that any more.

That post has helped a lot of other WordPress users out there and I’m very grateful for that. It’s a nice feeling to know you have helped somebody.

Even if it is something as small as a silly WordPress error.

Even though you don’t know who they are and probably never will.

A Small Amount of Your Time can go a Long Way!

It took me about 15 minutes or less to write, proofread and publish that post. That is also including the time it took to add and edit the schnazzy graphic to it too.

A short amount of my time spent has helped out lots of other people out there and saved them some of their time too.

Very cool!

So What?

Well, as it turns out that small post that took very little of my time at all has generated the most comments ever for this blog. It has brought in some decent traffic and is also ranking very well in Google for that error.

Which is great!

What’s the Moral of the Story?

The moral of the story is. If you have an idea for an article of a post, you should always take the time to write it and publish it. A lot of people out there will most likely find value in it and show there appreciation.

To be honest, I was pretty sure that, that post would have gone unnoticed. Which is why I almost didn’t write it.

There has been many times in the past where I was going to publish a short article, but didn’t. I thought that it was too short, that it wasn’t good enough or that it’s just a waste of time.

Now I question myself and wonder if those previous ideas that I didn’t post would have helped others out along the way?

I don’t know.

Lesson learned.

Don’t Make the same Mistake as I Did!

If you have an idea for a post, whether it be good or bad, too short, too long. Don’t let that stop you from writing and publishing it.

You never know what kind of traffic it can bring to your blog and who you might help out along the way.

  1. Hi Cal,you are right.A small time you spend over writing gives you a lot and a short article is injustice with readers.A small article do not have a full story. It should be of minimum 500 words so that each and every point is in the article.
